What is Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)?

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is the umbrella term for the diseases characterized by chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. The two most common are ulcerative colitis and Crohn\’s disease.
