What is a CT enterography and what it is measuring?

CT enterography is a special type of x-ray that takes images of your small intestine and other parts of your abdomen and pelvis. CT enterography can visualize the entire thickness of the intestinal wall and also the structure of surrounding soft tissue. Your doctor may order this test to identify and locate small intestine inflammation, sources of bleeding  within the small bowel, tumors in the small intestine, abscesses, fistulas, or bowel obstruction. It can be used to see inflammation, bleeding, obstructions, or diagnose Crohn\’s disease.
