What is a colonoscopy and what it is measuring?

A colonoscopy can potentially show irritated or ulcerated tissue, ulcers, polyps, or cancer. For this procedure, a doctor uses a scope to look inside your rectum and colon. A colonscopy is ordered to either diagnose suspected IBD or monitor your IBD.
