What if my friends aren’t supportive or my disease-related needs?

This can be really hard to experience. If this lack of support comes from a place of unawareness about IBD, you can go through resources with them like this one: Consider having an open conversation with your friends about how you want to feel supported. Use lots of \”I\” statements to help reduce defensiveness. If this doesn\’t work, you may want to seek disease-related support elsewhere, like with family or with an IBD support group.
